Halong Bay, on water and on land!
It is for this reason that,
taking advantage of a long weekend in Vietnam, we decided to
go and discover this mythical bay, as well as its sister,
the "land Halong Bay", less known but just as superb. |

Moving deeper into Halong Bay
We continued paddling past many more magnificent sites.
Suddenly someone spots something moving on the cliff. It is
a family of langurs, a primate (not a monkey) related to the
lemur.

Smooth sailing in Halong Bay
The drive to Halong City
took 1.5 hours longer than it should have when there was an
accident which banked traffic for miles in both directions
so it was a good thing we decided not to take the boat the
same day. |

Farewell Halong Bay - Hello Hanoi
There is a lot of boat traffic in Halong-Bay so if we began
to sank hanceswere our mayday would be quickly answered. We
pulled away and minutes later we were surrounded by hundreds
of limestone...

Halong Bay and beyond: Adventures with Thuy
Back on the boat for more
cruising. A little while later, we ended up in a swimmable
area, so a bunch of us jumped off the boat. The water was
way warmer than the air, and it was a really fun time. |

Halong Bay and goodbye to our group
A while after lunch we boarded the small boat (attached to
the back of our boat) for a quick ride to the Hang Sun Sot
caves, which are a series of caves filled with stalactites
and stalagmites and were very cool to see.
